Orano (formally Areva) Georges Besse II Nord & Sud enrichment plants
a. Centrifuge Monitoring System (CSM) Cyber security upgrade
This project consisted of two primary phases. Phase 1 — to harden and add resilience to the existing air gapped CMS network in line with Orano best cyber security practice. Phase 2 — the addition of appropriate protections, data diodes and other equipment so that the IT infrastructure can be monitored as part of the plant wide IT assets.
b. Centrifuge Monitoring System (CMS) software updates
The goal of the project was to deliver a new suite of software tools that are fit for purpose and could be effectively maintained and updated for the lifetime of the plant. To achieve this a new system was designed which was composed of both COTS network and IT infrastructure and the development of monitoring software that was designed and structured in such a way that it was extendable and add on modules which can be developed using a number of different venders to provide resiliency to the upgrade path.
